A helicopter crash in Saudi Arabia has resulted in the deaths of all 14 individuals on board, according to state media reports on Sunday. The incident occurred in the eastern coastal city of Ras Tanura at 06:00 local time (03:00 GMT).
The helicopter, belonging to state oil giant Aramco, crashed in Ras Tanura, and all victims were reported to be Saudi citizens. Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the crash, as stated by the Saudi Press Agency. Aramco has yet to provide a comment regarding the incident.
The Saudi energy ministry expressed its condolences to the families of the victims. Ras Tanura is home to a major Aramco oil refinery – one of the largest in the Middle East.
The crash comes shortly after Aramco resumed crude oil loading at the site, following an almost four-month pause due to the war in the Middle East. According to BBC News, the situation remains under investigation as authorities work to uncover the details surrounding this tragic event.
