Arabic version: ترامب يراجع اقتراح السلام الإيراني مع دخول الحرب يومها الخامس والستين
United States President Donald Trump is evaluating a new 14-point proposal from Iran aimed at ending the ongoing war, although he has expressed skepticism about the likelihood of reaching a deal. According to Al Jazeera, the Iranian plan includes demands for guarantees of nonaggression, sanctions relief, and the lifting of a naval blockade.
Iran’s proposal seeks to resolve all issues, including those in Lebanon, within 30 days, contrasting with Washington’s request for a two-month ceasefire. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has indicated its readiness for a return to hostilities, expressing doubts about the U.S. commitment to any agreements.
In response to Trump’s comments labeling U.S. actions against Iranian vessels as “piracy,” Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the U.S. actions as criminal. Meanwhile, reports indicate that an Iranian supertanker has successfully evaded the U.S. blockade, delivering more than 1.9 million barrels of crude oil to the Asia Pacific.
On the military front, the U.S. has approved significant arms deals totaling $8.6 billion for allies in the region, while also seeking to establish a coalition to ensure navigation freedom in the Strait of Hormuz. In Lebanon, Israeli air strikes have resulted in at least 41 fatalities in 24 hours, with ongoing military actions threatening civilian areas despite a ceasefire in place since April 16.
