According to BBC News, two people have died and four others were seriously injured after a car crashed into a group of pedestrians in Doncaster.

South Yorkshire Police said officers were called to White Rose Way at 11:00 BST on Sunday. A black Mitsubishi L200 struck the pedestrians before hitting a black Audi and a silver BMW on the opposite carriageway.

Two pedestrians died at the scene, while four people were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The crash happened between Carriage Drive and Middle Bank Roundabout.

The Mitsubishi driver, a 30-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while unfit. He was later released on bail.

A police spokesperson said officers were still working to identify the people who died and inform their families. South Yorkshire Police has asked witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to contact the force.
