Arabic version: خريطة توضح وصول الولايات المتحدة إلى القواعد العسكرية الأسترالية
According to The Guardian, research by the Nautilus Institute has revealed the extent of US military presence in Australia, with some analysts describing it as a “colonisation” of Australia’s military.
The video reports that the US military or US defence corporations have access to more than half of Australia’s military facilities. It maps US and Australian military bases across the country and examines concerns about whether that access could draw Australia unwillingly into war.
The map includes Pine Gap in the Northern Territory, described as a highly secretive joint Australian-US satellite communications and signals intelligence surveillance base. Pine Gap was established by the CIA in 1966.
