The first round of US-Iran talks has ended with both sides agreeing on a roadmap towards a final deal to be reached ‘within 60 days’.
According to Al Jazeera, Iran said the negotiations resulted in waivers for oil exports and the release of some frozen assets, marking a notable step forward in the discussions.
Additionally, the parties have also agreed to a ‘de-confliction cell’ to monitor the ceasefire in Lebanon, indicating a collaborative approach to regional stability. This development reflects a mutual interest in reducing tensions and enhancing dialogue between the two nations.
The outcomes of this initial round of talks are being viewed as a positive sign for future negotiations, with both sides expressing a willingness to continue engagement towards a comprehensive agreement.
