According to The Guardian, Victoria’s premier, Jacinta Allan, faces a possible leadership spill, with deputy premier Ben Carroll challenging for the Labor leadership. A leadership ballot was expected at a caucus meeting, and the party could face weeks of uncertainty if a spill proceeds.

The reported pressure on Allan follows a perceived lack of action over alleged corruption in Big Build construction projects. State parliament is sitting in Victoria, while the Morning Mail report said the looming ballot could determine what happens next for the state Labor government.
