Arabic version: غارات عنيفة للمستوطنين في الضفة الغربية تترك المنازل والحياة في الخراب
Israeli settlers have launched another wave of raids in the occupied West Bank, with houses and cars set on fire and a Palestinian child attacked. According to Al Jazeera, reports indicate that a man and his child were attacked with “sharp instruments” in the village of Khirbet Shuweika, south of Hebron, leading to hospitalization due to head injuries.
In the village of al-Lubban Asharqiya, south of Nablus, settlers torched a home, prompting a response from the Palestinian Civil Defence to extinguish the blaze. Additionally, in the area of Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah, settlers reportedly stormed the outskirts, burned a citizen’s vehicle, and wrote racist slogans on local homes.
Further violence was reported in Jenin, where Israeli forces forced residents to exhume a newly buried body, claiming the original burial site was too close to an illegal settlement. In Beit Fajjar, south of Bethlehem, a Palestinian man was assaulted by settlers, who also stole his mobile phone.
Tensions escalated in the Burak Sulayman area, where a group of Palestinians picnicking was dispersed by Israeli forces firing stun grenades. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society treated individuals for tear gas inhalation following the incident. In the town of Tuqu, southeast of Bethlehem, the mayor reported that Israeli forces fired “tear gas and sound bombs” at worshippers leaving a mosque, locking several inside.
On Friday, Israeli forces arrested four Palestinian men in the town of Battir while they were hiking, and three more were detained during a raid in Nablus. Settler attacks in Silwad, northeast of Ramallah, led to confrontations with local residents. Human rights organizations have criticized Israeli authorities for allowing settlers to operate with total impunity, especially after a plan was approved in February to designate large areas of the West Bank as “state property.” Currently, more than 700,000 Israelis reside in illegal settlements throughout the occupied territory.
