The film War of the Worlds, starring Ice Cube, has been recognized at the 2026 Razzie Awards as the worst film of 2025. According to BBC News, the Prime Video release received five awards, including worst picture, worst actor, worst director, worst screenplay, and worst remake.

The Razzies described War of the Worlds as a “cult hate-watch classic almost immediately,” criticizing its departure from H.G. Wells’ original novel. The awards highlighted the film’s gimmicky approach, poor dialogue, and Ice Cube’s performance as contributing factors to its negative reception.

In addition to War of the Worlds, Rebel Wilson was awarded worst actress for her role in Bride Hard, where she portrayed an action hero using weaponized curling irons. Scarlet Rose Stallone, the daughter of Sylvester Stallone, was named worst supporting actress for her performance in the Western film Gunslingers.

The worst supporting actor award went to the seven computer-generated dwarfs from Disney’s 2025 remake of Snow White, who also shared the worst screen combo title. However, there was a positive note as Kate Hudson received the Razzie Redeemer award for her role in Song Sung Blue, marking a turnaround after previous Razzie nominations.

The Razzie Awards continue to spotlight the year’s most criticized films, providing a humorous counterpoint to the upcoming Oscars, which honor cinematic excellence.
