New advertising platform gives independent businesses a simpler way to reach people discovering Western Sydney and beyond.
As Western Sydney prepares to open its new international gateway, WEST is giving local businesses a new way to put themselves in front of the people discovering the region.
The Western Sydney based media and discovery platform has launched their WEST Ad Launchpad, a self-serve advertising tool designed to make digital advertising more accessible to independent businesses without large media budgets or specialist marketing teams.
Built directly into the WEST App, the WEST Ad Launchpad allows businesses to create and manage advertising within the same ecosystem people are already using to discover where to eat, visit and experience.
The launch comes ahead of the first passenger flights at Western Sydney International Airport, as increased visitation, investment and movement across the region creates new opportunities for local operators.
WEST believes those opportunities should be accessible to the independent businesses that make Western Sydney worth discovering — not only major brands with significant advertising budgets.
“Western Sydney International will change the way people move through and discover this part of the world,” said founder Dean Boone.
“But the economic opportunity it creates has to reach the everyday businesses – the cafés, restaurants, accommodation providers, attractions, retailers and independent operators already shaping the region.
“The WEST Ad Launchpad is about lowering the barrier to entry. A business shouldn’t need an agency, a media buyer or a large advertising budget to reach an audience looking for what they offer.”
The product represents a broader shift in the WEST approach to local media, bringing publishing, discovery, connection and advertising closer together.
Rather than operating solely as a traditional publisher selling media inventory, WEST is building tools that allow businesses to participate directly in its consumer ecosystem, alongside editorial content, local recommendations, events and its network of content creators and WEST Ambassadors.
For small and medium businesses, the platform is designed to simplify advertising and provide a more direct route to relevant audiences. Hyper local, hyper focused and hyper targetted.
For WEST, it is part of a wider strategy to rethink the relationship between publisher, advertiser and local business.
“There is an enormous amount of investment coming into Western Sydney, but many independent operators still sit outside traditional CBD-focused media and advertising markets,” founder Dean Boone said.
“Our role is to help close that gap, by giving businesses better access to discovery, while giving consumers more reasons to explore what is around them.”
The WEST Ad Launchpad will initially roll out across the WEST App, with further advertising, promotion and business tools planned as the WEST App evolves.
