Presentation summary:
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion are critical concepts for the future of Psychology and for the advancement of social justice. The Equity and Diversity Research Theme in the School of Psychology at Western Sydney University conducts research that advocates for and advances equity, diversity and inclusion across the intersections of genders, sexualities, race, class, and health. In this Forum we engage with our Community and Industry partners to present practical and theoretical responses to equity and inclusion in workplaces, education, sport, and across migrant and refugee communities. We highlight the challenges and opportunities for equity and inclusion and problematise normative structures that limit equity and inclusion across contexts. In this Forum our experts will discuss how inclusive and family friendly workplaces promotes gender equity, how inclusive educational and sporting models progress community belonging, and how critical attention to culturally and racially marginalised communities can produce opportunities for growth.
