According to BBC News, Wigan Warriors moved level with Leeds at the top of the Super League table after beating Bradford Bulls 34-6 at Odsal. Wigan are second only on points difference, while Bradford remain 13th, two points above bottom side Huddersfield.

After an attritional start, Jake Wardle opened the scoring by collecting a loose ball and fighting through two Bulls tackles. Adam Keighran soon extended the visitors’ advantage after Bevan French found him on the final tackle.

Bradford went close when Chris Atkin was held up over the line following work from Joe Mellor. Wigan then added a third before half-time as Harry Smith’s kick allowed French to beat Caleb Aekins in the air and score.

Wigan had an early second-half try ruled out after Patrick Mago was judged to have knocked on while scoring. Wardle then claimed his second after the Warriors capitalised on an error from Andy Ackers, before Kian McDermott ran in untouched following interplay between Smith and French.

Ackers scored Bradford’s only try, but Jake Kerr added Wigan’s sixth late on. Harry Smith kicked five goals as Matt Peet’s side recorded their 18th victory of the season.
