Arabic version: توقيف امرأة بعد بلاغات عن حوادث صدم وفرار في أديلايد
According to ABC News, a 32-year-old Pooraka woman was arrested after police received reports of a series of vehicle collisions and alleged dangerous driving across Adelaide’s north-eastern suburbs early on Sunday.
SA Police said a car collided with another vehicle on Montague Road at Ingle Farm before allegedly leaving the scene. A short time later, the woman was allegedly involved in three further hit-run crashes at North East Road at Hillcrest, Sudholz Road at Gilles Plains, and Cassie Street at Collinswood.
Police also received a report that the woman was allegedly driving dangerously on the wrong side of the road towards the city at Medindie. Crews were called to Mann Road at North Adelaide at about 12:20am following reports of a head-on collision with another vehicle.
Police said patrols quickly arrived and located the driver. They will allege the woman punched one police officer numerous times and bit another officer on the finger during her arrest. The officers were not seriously injured, while the victim in the final crash was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The woman is expected to be charged when medically fit with several offences, including three counts each of driving without due care and speed dangerous, two counts of failing to stop at a crash scene, and aggravated assault of a prescribed emergency worker. SA Premier Peter Malinauskas said there was no justification for the actions towards police officers.
