According to ABC News, a 67-year-old woman has been charged with offensive language after allegedly making antisemitic and abusive comments to a group that included Jewish leaders and Sydney Swans players at Archer Park, the site of the Bondi Beach terror attack.

Police were called to Archer Park on Wednesday afternoon after reports that the woman confronted the group. Officers patrolling the area under Operation Shelter attended the park. Police said on the day that no further action would be taken, but on Friday they issued the woman with a court attendance notice and charged her with offensive language.

Executive Council of Australian Jewry co-chief executive Alex Ryvchin said he was with one of the victims who was shot during the targeted December attack on a Jewish event, which claimed 15 lives. He said the woman directed comments at the group, including “Evil Zionist”.

Mr Ryvchin said the alleged incident was confronting for Sydney Swans players who were visiting the site to show solidarity. He said the survivor of the mass shooting went to police to make a complaint, and welcomed the charge as the right move by police. The woman is expected to face Waverley Court in September.
