Arabic version: وفاة امرأة بعد ادعاء تعرّضها للطعن على يد شريكها

According to ABC News, a 47-year-old woman has died in hospital after Northern Territory Police alleged she was stabbed in the chest by her partner earlier this month.

Police said the woman’s 39-year-old partner took her to Palmerston Regional Hospital at about 8pm on September 18, telling staff that she was unwell. A medical assessment found she had suffered two stab wounds to her chest.

The woman was transferred to Royal Darwin Hospital in a critical condition. Police said they received confirmation of her death earlier on September 28.

Her partner was arrested on September 19 and later charged with intentionally causing serious harm. Police said they were liaising with the Department of Public Prosecutions as the investigation continues.

The man remains in custody and is due to return to Darwin Local Court on October 28.
