Zayn Malik has cancelled his upcoming US solo tour and two UK shows after sharing a photo of himself in hospital. The former One Direction singer revealed on his Instagram page that he needed to take “another look” at his schedule, stating he is working to be “better and stronger than before.”

According to BBC News, the singer has previously cancelled live dates over “extreme anxiety,” but did not specify the reason for his latest cancellations. A photo of Malik in hospital was shared on an official updates page two weeks ago, followed by a comment indicating he was still “unexpectedly recovering.”

Malik’s original tour was set to begin this month with 31 dates worldwide, starting on May 12 in Manchester. The rescheduled tour will now kick off on May 23, featuring only nine performances. The first UK show will take place at London’s O2 Arena, followed by a performance at Manchester’s AO Arena. Shows in Glasgow, Birmingham, and Dublin have been cancelled, although dates in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Brazil are still planned.

Fans expressed disappointment over the cancellations, with one ticket holder for the Glasgow show stating she was “devastated” as she had made arrangements to attend with her boyfriend. However, she acknowledged that Malik’s health should take precedence. Refunds for tickets purchased through Ticketmaster will be processed automatically, while tickets for the Manchester show will remain valid for the new date.
