Arabic version: الضربات الإسرائيلية في غزة تؤدي إلى سقوط العديد من الضحايا الفلسطينيين
At least seven Palestinians have been killed, and others wounded, in Israeli strikes across the central and southern Gaza Strip. An Israeli drone fired two missiles close to a police post in Bureij refugee camp, Mahmoud Bassal, a spokesman for Gaza’s civil defence rescue service told the AFP news agency.
Medical sources confirmed to Al Jazeera that the early morning attack targeted a group of civilians in the “Block 9” area of Bureij. The strikes resulted in several fatalities and serious injuries. Ambulance crews faced difficult conditions while transporting the injured to nearby hospitals.
The al-Aqsa hospital in central Gaza told AFP it had received six bodies and seven wounded people, including four in critical condition. Additionally, the nearby al-Awda hospital confirmed one fatality and two injuries. In a separate incident in the southern Gaza Strip, the Nasser Medical Complex reported three wounded people following an Israeli drone strike against a tent of displaced people in Bani Suheila.
Israeli artillery shelling and heavy tank fire were also reported near Bani Suheila and east of Gaza City. Since the beginning of the conflict in October 2023, the Gaza Ministry of Health has reported over 72,300 fatalities, including at least 738 since the so-called ceasefire began last October.
In related developments, Israeli settlers and forces continued their operations in the occupied West Bank, arresting several individuals and reportedly expanding illegal settlements. Recent reports indicate that the Israeli government has secretly approved the establishment of 34 new settlements, drawing condemnation from various international entities for violating international law.
