The Leppington Local Woman of the Year 2024 has been awarded to Antoinette Sulfaro in recognition of her significant work to actively support the community.

Member for Leppington, Nathan Hagarty, commended Antoinette Sulfaro on the honour, recognising her passion and the positive impact she has made in the Leppington area.

The Local Woman of the Year Awards is an annual program celebrating outstanding women in local communities. This is a separate program which runs alongside the prestigious Women of the Year Awards program.

Antoinette Sulfaro is a dedicated and compassionate leader at Ladies Like To Lunch, a not-for-profit organization committed to supporting women affected by cancer in South West Sydney.

Drawing from her own experiences as a carer and motivated by her family’s battle with cancer, Antoinette has played a pivotal role in the success and impact of the organisation’s Care Package Program.

Her deep understanding of the South West Sydney community and her ability to forge strong relationships with sponsors and partners have been crucial in mobilising support for the cause.

Antoinette’s commitment to the community extends beyond her work with Ladies Like To Lunch. In 2023, she showcased her dedication by being the number 1 fundraiser in the STARS Of Sydney South West – Dance For Cancer event, organised by Cancer Council NSW.

Since 2019, Antoinette has raised nearly $118,000 for cancer support, reflecting her dedication to making a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.

The Local Women of the Year Awards is part of the NSW Government’s initiative to recognise the accomplishments of women as part of NSW Women’s Week 2024, running 4-10 March, coinciding with International Women’s Day on 8 March.

Recipients of the Local Woman of the Year Awards will be hosted at the NSW Women of the Year Awards Ceremony at the International Convention Centre in Sydney on 7 March 2024.
