According to ABC News, Barambah Organics founder Ian Campbell and his daughter Hannah Campbell died after the light plane they were travelling in crashed in a field at Stockleigh, in Logan, south of Brisbane.

The crash occurred shortly after 11am on Monday and sparked a grass fire. Emergency services found two aircraft occupants, a 56-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, both from Ascot, and they were declared dead at the scene.

Initial police information indicated the aircraft departed Archerfield Airport at about 10:57am and crashed at approximately 11:10am. Eight Queensland Fire Department crews attended to extinguish the fire caused by the crash.

Mr Campbell was a fourth-generation dairy farmer who founded Queensland family-owned dairy company Barambah Organics with his wife, Jane. The family still part-owns the company. The Campbells had farmed in the South Burnett region for more than 100 years and more recently founded Mañana Pastoral in the Goondiwindi region, producing extra virgin olive oil, grass-fed lamb and beef.

Queensland Police Service and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau are investigating the detailed circumstances of the crash. The ATSB sent three transport safety investigators from its Brisbane offices to examine the site and gather evidence, with aircraft components to be taken to its technical facilities in Canberra for further examination.
