The Diocese of Parramatta, in partnership with the Columban Centre for Christian-Muslim Relations, successfully hosted a Multi-Faith Community Iftar Dinner, an event promoting harmony and mutual respect among diverse religious communities. This significant gathering aimed to foster understanding and dialogue, aligning with its theme of “Creating a harmonious multi-religious society.”
The dinner was graciously hosted by Most Reverend Vincent Long Van Nguyen OFM Conv, Bishop of Parramatta, and Reverend Dr Patrick McInerney from the Columban Centre for Christian-Muslim Relations, both of whom highlighted the importance of unity and peace in a culturally diverse society.

Among the distinguished guests in attendance was the President of the Australian Federation of Northern Lebanon, whose presence underscored the broad community support for intercultural and interfaith initiatives. The President emphasised the significance of such events in strengthening relationships between different cultural and religious groups within Australia.

The evening featured rich conversations, communal reflections, and the traditional breaking of the fast, providing a vibrant showcase of Australia’s multicultural fabric. The organisers and attendees expressed optimism that events like these will continue to build bridges and promote peace and unity across Australia’s diverse communities.
