The Australian Lebanese community is being invited to come together for a special evening of culture, unity and national pride as the Australian Lebanese Cultural Union (ALCU) hosts its Lebanese Independence Day Gala Dinner on Friday, 20 November 2026 in Bankstown.

More than simply a celebration, the gala is an opportunity for Lebanese Australians, community leaders, businesses, organisations and friends of Lebanon to stand together in support of a community that has contributed so much to Australia’s multicultural story.

The event will be held at La Castelle Venue, formerly The Bellevue, at 2–10 Restwell Street, Bankstown NSW 2200, with pre-dinner drinks commencing at 7:00 pm and the official dinner beginning at 8:00 pm sharp.

A celebration of heritage and community

Lebanese Independence Day holds a special place in the hearts of Lebanese people around the world. For the diaspora in Australia, it is also an opportunity to celebrate the traditions, identity and cultural heritage that continue to connect generations to Lebanon while recognising the important role Lebanese Australians play in their adopted home.

Through events such as the annual gala, the ALCU continues its work of bringing people together, strengthening cultural ties and ensuring Lebanese heritage remains vibrant within Australia’s multicultural society.

The evening provides an ideal opportunity for families, community organisations and supporters to reconnect, celebrate and demonstrate their support for the ALCU and its ongoing community and cultural activities.

Businesses and organisations encouraged to sponsor

The gala also presents an opportunity for businesses, professionals and organisations to support the event through sponsorship.

Backing a major community celebration such as the Lebanese Independence Day Gala is not only a way to support the ALCU’s cultural and community work, but also an opportunity for organisations to demonstrate their commitment to Australia’s Lebanese and multicultural communities.

Local businesses, corporate partners and community organisations are encouraged to contact the ALCU to discuss sponsorship and support opportunities.

Come together for Lebanon

Whether through attending the gala, becoming a sponsor, supporting the organisers or encouraging others to participate, every contribution helps strengthen the connections that keep Lebanese culture and community spirit thriving in Australia.

The 2026 Lebanese Independence Day Gala Dinner promises to be an important gathering for the community and a chance to celebrate Lebanon’s history while looking towards the future of the Lebanese-Australian community.
