Arabic version: تقارير عن مقتل مدنيين في هجمات بالسودان
According to Allafrica, a series of attacks in Blue Nile, West Kordofan and North Kordofan states left dozens of civilians dead or injured this week as fighting involving the Sudanese army, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and allied groups spread into new regions.
Emergency Lawyers, a Sudanese legal rights group, said a Sudanese army drone strike targeted a gathering of displaced people in the southern Badia area of Blue Nile State on Thursday. Preliminary information indicated that dozens were killed or injured, most of them women and children. The group said the victims had fled earlier clashes between the army and the RSF in Sinnar state and lacked adequate shelter, grazing land, livelihoods and humanitarian relief.
In West Kordofan, medical sources at Al-Nuhud Hospital said six-year-old Nader Shehab was killed when an RSF patrol opened fire on a civilian vehicle in the Saq al-Jamal area, west of Al-Nuhud. His brother was seriously injured and underwent surgery. The vehicle was reportedly carrying civilians from East Darfur State to El Obeid in North Kordofan.
A separate drone attack on a market in Ar Rahad, North Kordofan, reportedly killed at least two children, four adults and injured more than 20 people overall. Child protection advocates said six children aged six to 14 were injured. They warned that communities in Dilling and Kadugli in South Kordofan, parts of North Darfur and areas of Blue Nile affected by the expanding conflict face severe insecurity, displacement and growing humanitarian needs.
Emergency Lawyers condemned the Ar Rahad strike and called for an immediate end to attacks on populated areas, an independent investigation, accountability and safe humanitarian corridors. The Darfur Network for Human Rights said the attacks on displaced civilians, market-goers and travelers reflected a widening conflict whose human cost falls heavily on children and displaced families.
