A couple have appeared in court after a 13-year-old boy died in a crash in Flitwick, Bedfordshire. Noah Campbell died in a collision between a car, a bike, and a scooter at 23:50 BST on Friday. Two other teenage boys were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Jamie Fountain, 24, and Ellie Ireland, 23, appeared before magistrates in Luton charged with multiple offences between them following the crash. They were both remanded in custody and will next appear at Luton Crown Court on 5 May. According to BBC News, Fountain was charged with causing death by careless driving and causing death by careless driving while over the legal limit for alcohol and drugs.

Fountain, of Fir Tree Close, Flitwick, was driving a BMW at the time of the crash, with Ireland, his girlfriend who works as an EasyJet cabin crew member, as the passenger. In addition to the charges related to Noah’s death, Fountain faces counts of causing serious injury by careless driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident, and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Ireland is charged solely with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Noah’s family described him as a “fun, bright, handsome, athletic” boy who was “incredibly well-liked”. As investigations continue, one of the two other injured boys remains in serious condition in the hospital, according to police reports.
