According to BBC News, Camilo Duran scored twice as Celtic beat Austrian champions and cup winners LASK 3-0 in Glasgow in their Champions League play-off. The result puts Celtic in a strong position before the second leg, though manager Martin O’Neill urged caution after LASK created several chances.

Benjamin Nygren opened the scoring with his fourth goal in four games. Duran then struck twice, including a team move that began with goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo and ended with the Colombian finishing into the top corner after an exchange with Nygren.

Duran also impressed with his defensive work, tracking back to help Celtic protect their lead in the second half. O’Neill described Colby Donovan, the teenage right-back, as having a “Big, big heart” and “Boundless enthusiasm”. Callum McGregor was highlighted for keeping Celtic on the front foot.

Celtic spent close to £30m on players, with Duran reportedly costing between £4.5m and £6m and Kasper Hogh £11m. O’Neill said the club remain in net profit on transfer fees following the sales of Arne Engels and Daizen Maeda, while indicating that further recruitment is needed if Celtic return to the Champions League.
