According to BBC News, Durham took just six deliveries to complete a 10-wicket victory over Gloucestershire at Chester-le-Street in the Rothesay County Championship Division Two. Needing four runs to win, Durham sent Matty Potts and Ollie Robinson to open their second innings, with Potts striking the winning boundary from the final ball of the first over against Ollie Price’s off spin.

The result gave Durham 22 points and Gloucestershire three. David Bedingham supplied Durham’s main batting highlight with 122, his fifth Championship century of the season. The South African overseas batter moved to within 57 runs of 1,000 for the campaign as Durham made 384. Kasey Aldridge had earlier taken 5-16 when Gloucestershire were dismissed for 137 on the opening day, with James Bracey making 60.

Durham established a first-innings lead of 247 before Aldridge claimed 4-47 in Gloucestershire’s second innings, ending the match with figures of 9-63. Brydon Carse took four important wickets, while Miles Hammond made 58 as Gloucestershire reached 250 and moved just ahead on the third evening. Bad light delayed Durham’s four-run chase until the following morning. Durham next travel to Northampton, while Gloucestershire return to Bristol to face Derbyshire, whom they beat by 10 wickets in April.
