Arabic version: تقديم تغييرات كبيرة في موسم الفورمولا 1 لعام 2026
The 2026 Formula 1 season is set to bring significant changes that fans will need to adapt to, starting with the first race in Australia from 6-8 March. According to BBC News, this season features bold new regulations, including a new team on the grid.
One of the most notable changes is the overhaul of the power unit, chassis, tyres, and fuel. The new cars are smaller and more environmentally friendly, utilizing engines that have a near 50-50 split between electric and internal combustion power, along with fully sustainable fuels. However, concerns have been raised about the energy management required and its impact on driving styles during races.
The drag reduction system (DRS) has been replaced with an ‘overtake mode’, allowing drivers to gain an extra burst of electric energy when they are within one second of the car ahead. This change is part of the active aero technology, which allows for real-time adjustments to the car’s aerodynamics.
The 2026 season also sees the introduction of rookie driver Arvid Lindblad, who will be 18 years and seven months old on 8 March, making him the fourth youngest F1 driver in history. Additionally, the Spanish Grand Prix will move to Madrid, introducing a new purpose-built track alongside the existing race in Barcelona.
Cadillac makes its debut in Formula 1, expanding the grid from ten to eleven teams. The team, featuring experienced drivers Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas, aims to make a competitive mark in its inaugural season. Meanwhile, Aston Martin is beginning a new partnership with Honda, facing challenges as they work through reliability issues with their new power unit.
