Gwyneth Paltrow is set to auction nearly 300 items from her personal collection next week in Los Angeles. The auction, hosted by Julien’s, will feature a mix of designer gowns, everyday clothing, and unique memorabilia, with some lots starting as low as $50 (£37).

According to The Guardian, the auction includes a diverse range of items, from a customized sunhat to a Dolce & Gabbana 2001 T-shirt that has already attracted significant bids. Notably, a “mom” necklace has received bids reaching $700 (£523), while a Goop black jumpsuit is currently at $50.

The sale was prompted by a fire at a storage facility and Paltrow’s recent house move, leading her to declutter her belongings. Martin Nolan, a co-founder of Julien’s, emphasized that Paltrow wanted to ensure the auction felt accessible, stating it was important for her that it not appear elitist.

Fashion writer Hannah Jackson noted that the auction reflects a mix of everyday items and high-fashion pieces, highlighting that celebrities, like everyone else, also have practical needs. Among the notable items is an Atelier Versace gown worn by Paltrow at the 2010 Country Music Awards, showcasing her status as an A-list celebrity.

The auction is part of a larger event titled Bold Luxury, and it is anticipated to attract both collectors and fans. Nolan believes this auction could serve as a great starting point for aspiring collectors, especially since Paltrow continues to be active in fashion and style.
