Arabic version: جلسة تحقيق تستمع إلى معاناة بول فلاك بعد وفاة شقيقته
According to BBC News, an inquest heard that Paul Flack, the brother of television presenter Caroline Flack, had “never recovered” after his sister’s death in 2020.
Paul Flack, 55, was found unresponsive at his home on Sandringham Road in Norwich on 21 June and later died in hospital. Norfolk Coroner Johanna Thompson gave a narrative conclusion, stating that he died while under the influence of alcohol and that his intent was unknown.
His partner, Joanna Millington, told Norfolk Coroner’s Court that he had struggled with Caroline Flack’s death and with his father Ian developing dementia. Ian Flack died at the beginning of the year. Millington said Paul had sought help from his GP for low mood in August 2020 but did not attend follow-up appointments or counselling.
Millington, Paul Flack’s partner of 32 years, also said his work as a self-employed graphic designer had become harder to find as the industry declined. She described him as a lovely person who took on a lot from others, adding there had been no suggestion that he would harm himself.
The court heard that, on Father’s Day, Paul Flack spent time with his family before going to the garden to listen to music. He was later found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital at 23:45. Toxicology found his blood alcohol level was four times the legal limit for driving.
