Arabic version: غارة طائرة مسيرة إسرائيلية تقتل شخصًا في غزة أثناء محادثات السلام

A Palestinian man has been killed, and several others injured, after an Israeli drone strike targeted a motorcycle west of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. This incident occurred as Israel continues to violate a ceasefire agreement established in October 2023. Eyad al-Motawwaq’s death was confirmed by a medical source, along with injuries to an unspecified number of individuals.

According to Al Jazeera, witnesses reported that the drone strike took place outside the designated zones of Israeli military deployment under the so-called ceasefire agreement. Additionally, Israeli forces shelled the eastern areas of Gaza City’s Tuffah neighborhood, though no casualties from that attack have been confirmed.

Reports indicate that the past 48 hours have seen at least four fatalities and 15 injuries in Gaza, with some victims still trapped under rubble as rescue teams work to reach them. The ongoing conflict, which escalated in October 2023, has resulted in the deaths of over 72,736 people and left more than 172,000 injured, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

In light of the violence, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Muhammad Darwish, head of Hamas’s advisory Shura Council, to discuss peace efforts and humanitarian assistance for Gaza. During the meeting in Ankara, Fidan criticized Israel’s expanding presence in Gaza and its hindrance of humanitarian aid, calling the situation “unacceptable.” He emphasized that the ongoing war should not overshadow the Palestinian issue and reiterated Turkey’s opposition to any forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza.
