Arabic version: الشرطة تحقق في العثور على جثة داخل حقيبة سفر في أولن
According to ABC News, police in southern New South Wales are continuing to investigate after a body was found in a suitcase beside a road at Oallen. The death is being treated as suspicious.
Two members of the public alerted authorities shortly before 1pm on Sunday after finding the suitcase near Wolgon Road, about 60 kilometres south-east of Goulburn. Police believe the remains are those of an adult female, but efforts to identify her are continuing.
Hume Police District Commander Superintendent Linda Bradbury said the remains were in a state of decomposition, meaning identification would take time. A forensic examination is also under way to determine how long the suitcase may have been at the location.
Police have seized the suitcase for forensic examination and are investigating possible links to other missing people. The homicide squad is involved in the ongoing inquiries.
Superintendent Bradbury said the suitcase was found near Wolgon Road and Oallen Ford Road. She described the area as a rural-residential location on a road travelled frequently, though it is not a heavy traffic route. Oallen is a small village on the Shoalhaven River in the Southern Tablelands.
