According to ABC News, ACT Policing is seeking public assistance to identify two men following an alleged burglary at a south Canberra home in August, during which a woman suffered serious head injuries after a firearm was discharged.
Police said the incident occurred at about 9pm on Saturday, August 22, at a residence on Ellerston Avenue in Isabella Plains. Investigators allege two men approached the home and forced their way inside. One was allegedly carrying a firearm and the other a machete.
The men allegedly threatened several people inside the residence and searched for money and valuables. ACT Policing said a firearm was discharged as the offenders were leaving the home, and a woman sustained serious injuries to her head. The men then allegedly fled with stolen property. The woman was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police believe the alleged incident was targeted rather than random. The two men were described as wearing dark-coloured hooded jumpers, dark pants and gloves. Anyone who was in Isabella Plains on the evening of August 22, or who has CCTV or dash-cam footage, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or through the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
