The official page of the Consulate General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Sydney has published a message directed to esteemed citizens of the Egyptian community within its jurisdiction. The message conveyed the consulate’s greetings and its commitment to facilitating access to consular services for Egyptian citizens residing in the area. It also proudly announced that the consulate is continuing to compile a list of names and numbers of community members interested in obtaining national ID cards for the first time. This initiative is part of preparations to coordinate with the relevant national authorities in Egypt to send a specialized committee to Sydney for the issuance of these ID cards.

In this regard, the consulate kindly requests that respected citizens residing in New South Wales, Queensland, and the Northern Territory who wish to apply for a national ID card for the first time, send their requests to the consulate via email at the following address:

The email should have the subject line: “Request for Issuance of National ID Card for the First Time” and must include the following information:

– Full name as stated on the birth certificate.
– Date of birth.
– Mobile phone number for contact.
– Personal email address.
– Name of the state and city of current residence.

Additionally, please attach a clear photocopy of the computerized Egyptian birth certificate of the applicant, as it is a prerequisite for issuing a national ID card for the first time. The consulate urges citizens who do not have a computerized Egyptian birth certificate to take swift action to obtain one, which can be done through the consulate in Sydney.

The consulate also announced that it will be closed from March 19 to March 23 for the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Operations and citizen services will resume on Tuesday, March 24.
