According to Allafrica, Sudan has accused Ethiopia of allowing 162 drone attacks to be launched from its territory, alleging that the strikes killed more than 400 civilians and 102 military personnel. The claims have not been independently verified.

Sudanese officials presented the allegations at a briefing attended by senior military and intelligence officials and undersecretaries from the foreign affairs and information ministries. They named El Damazin, El Mazmum, Sennar, Kosti, Rabak, Belong, El Kurmuk, El Dinder, Wad El Mahi, El Obeid, Abu Oileila, Bara and Umm Rawaba as alleged targets.

The officials said dozens of schools, fuel stations, health centres and hospitals had been destroyed. They alleged that drones were launched from bases in Assosa, Bahir Dar and sites along the Sudanese border, with flight paths alongside South Sudan. They said the aircraft included modified kamikaze and long-range drones, including Chinese-made models and Turkish-made Bayraktar Akinci and Bayraktar TB2 drones.

Officials also said Sudanese forces had shot down several drones, including Akinci and CH-95 models. Foreign Affairs Ministry undersecretary Muawiya Osman Khalid said Sudan was pursuing “strategic patience” while insisting it would defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He called for international action over what he described as aggression threatening civilians and regional stability.

Participants at the briefing said the strikes were intended to prevent displaced people, particularly those in Khartoum, from returning home and to undermine efforts to restore normal life. Ethiopia has previously rejected allegations that it supports the Rapid Support Forces, calling them unfounded. Separately, Defence Minister Hassan Daoud Kabroun said more than 20 countries were involved in the war through logistical support, mercenaries, funding and drones for the RSF.
