The NSW Government has admitted that passengers will wait for at least an extra year before the Sydenham to Bankstown section of the CBD and South -West Metro finally opens.
 
While Transport officials have said that another section of the metro line will open in 2024, passengers living west of Sydenham, in many of Sydney’s growing suburbs, will end up waiting until at least the end of 2025 for a public transport service they have repeatedly been promised.
 
Passengers on the T3 Bankstown Line have faced repeated disruptions throughout the construction of the South West Metro project and were promised that they would get a faster turn up and go service to make up for it.
 
Now they face the prospect of a delay of at least 12 months and continued service disruptions, while passengers living east of Sydenham will be able to take advantage of a turn up and go metro service.
