On the sixth day of the United States-Israeli offensive against Iran, the situation is escalating inside Iran while regional tensions are intensifying across the Gulf, Lebanon and Iraq. According to Al Jazeera, Iranian state media reports that the death toll from five days of US-Israeli attacks has reached 1,045, with more than 6,000 people wounded.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has accused the US and Israel of targeting 33 civilian sites, including hospitals, schools, residential areas, the Tehran Grand Bazaar and the historic Golestan Palace complex, during the ongoing strikes. Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, significantly impacting maritime activity in the region.

In a related incident, a US submarine sank the Iris Dena, an Iranian frigate, off the coast of Sri Lanka, leading to the recovery of 87 bodies and the rescue of 32 individuals. Additionally, Kurdish-Iranian armed groups appear to be mounting a ground offensive in northwest Iran, with reports indicating that Iraqi Kurdish forces are on standby to assist.

In the Gulf, Iranian counterstrikes have disrupted oil flows, prompting discussions between US and Saudi officials regarding regional stability. Qatar has begun evacuating residents near its US Embassy as a precautionary measure, while diplomatic outreach has occurred between Qatar and Iran, urging an immediate halt to hostilities.

In Israel, military actions have intensified, with the Israeli military announcing a new wave of strikes targeting military infrastructure in Tehran. US and Western officials assert that air supremacy has been achieved, allowing for unrestricted operations over Iranian territory. Domestically, public support for the US-Israeli actions remains low, with recent polls indicating only 25% approval among the American populace.
