Arabic version: اتهام رجل من بيرث بقتل شقيقه التوأم
According to ABC News, police have charged a 29-year-old Perth man with the murder of his twin brother after the brother’s body was found in the backyard of their home in Orelia, a south Perth suburb.
Ashley Bruno Grillo has been charged with one count of murder. He appeared in court by telephone on Saturday from Fiona Stanley Hospital, where police are holding him in custody because of “significant concerns” for his mental health.
Prosecutor Sergeant William Peacock told the court that Mr Grillo had been restrained to his hospital bed for the safety of staff. Arrangements were being made for his transfer to a forensic mental health facility. He is next due to appear in court on October 16.
Police said a family member visiting the brothers’ home contacted authorities with welfare concerns. Officers who attended the property found the body in the backyard.
Detective Acting Superintendent Jessica Securo said on Friday that blades potentially used as weapons had been seized from the home. The body had “obvious injuries”, and police were treating the death as a suspected family violence homicide. Forensic officers also examined an area of upturned soil in the backyard.
